Gaijin Ramen Shop

Restaurant

OUR HISTORY:
žGaijin Ramen Shop is a woman-owned ramen shop, started in 2015 by two best friends Nicole and Tuvan. Tuvan is the chef and Nicole runs the front of the house, together we make a stellar buisiness partnership founded on trust and loyalty.

When we first started we thought of the hashtag #fromthehearttoabowl because it is what we do, we poured our heart into our food and concept to truly provide the best dining experience possible for our customers. We use NO MSG in any of our food and are very conscious of people with allergies; we make Gluten-free ramen upon request. We also make our own egg-free ramen noodles in house fresh daily.

THE MEANING OF OUR NAME:
Gaijin Ramen Shop is classified as an “Asian fusion” restaurant because we combine different elements of many culinary traditions. The concept of our name comes from the acceptance that we are not a traditional Japanese ramen shop. The Japanese word Gaijin (外人) (literally and originally meaning "outside person"). Gaijin is a Japanese word for "foreigner," "non-Japanese", "outsider" or "different." The word is composed of two kanji: gai (外), meaning "outside"; and jin (人), meaning "person."
ž
žOur name represents a warm and welcoming invitation for any and everyone to enjoy a gastronomic experience - literally meaning “An Outsiders Ramen Shop.”
