National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Industry Awards

Restaurants and the many individuals who contribute to their success are vital components to any community. RAMW wants the outstanding restaurateurs in the Washington Metropolitan Area to receive the recognition they deserve. If you or someone you know enhances our community through dedication and hard work in the restaurant industry please apply or submit a nomination so these deserving individuals can be recognized. The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation has the following awards and recognition programs to help raise awareness for the positive impact restaurants have in their communities and the role the industry plays in improving the quality of life for all we serve. 

Faces of Diversity American Dream Award:
Honors those who have achieved success through perseverance and determination. Each year the NRAEF, in partnership with PepsiCo Foodservice, recognizes three individuals from diverse backgrounds who, through hard work and determination, have realized the American Dream. Winners receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC where they are honored at a gala awards celebration in April 2015, a $2,500 ProStart scholarship is also made in their name to an aspiring student.

Restaurant Neighbor Award Application
For Outstanding Community Project
The Restaurant Neighbor Award is presented to a restaurant or company for its outstanding community service programs or project. The Cornerstone Humanitarian is presented to an individual for his or her personal commitment to community service. Four winners will win $5,000 and an all expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. 

The Cornerstone Humanitarian is awarded specifically to an individual, not a restaurant, for his or her personal commitment to community service. A person can apply for the award or he/she can be nominated by another individual or organization.

2015 Thad And Alice Eure Ambassador Of Hospitality: 

The Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award is the premiere award bestowed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation to an individual who has shown extraordinary achievement and exemplary leadership in the restaurant and hospitality industry. The award is named for Thad and Alice Eure who generously gave their time and resources to serve their community and the hospitality industry.

Consideration will be given to a nominee who serves as a company Chairperson, CEO, President or Senior Executive for his or her lifetime achievement in the hospitality industry. 

Individuals will meet the following criteria:
1. Willing to serve as an “Ambassador” or spokesperson for the industry.
2. Possesses high stature and recognition in the hospitality industry.
3. Has shown extraordinary leadership and advocacy on behalf of the industry
4. Is a respected spokesperson and a positive role model to young people considering careers in the restaurant/foodservice/hospitality industry.
5. Is an advocate of the NRAEF mission and uses his/her leadership in the industry to enhance the stature of the industry through community service and philanthropy.
