Georgetown GLOW

December 8, 2017 - 5:00pm to January 2, 2018 - 10:00pm

Experience the sparkle of the season at the 4th Annual Georgetown GLOW, the region's only curated exhibition of public light art installations. Set against the historic backdrop of DC's oldest neighborhood, it's a whole new way to shine.

The 2017 Georgetown GLOW invites visitors to re-imagine the season of light through public art.  Now in its third year, 2016's Georgetown GLOW is expanding from a 10-night to a month-long exhibition running from Friday, December 8 through Tuesday, January 2, with works lit from 5 – 10 p.m. nightly.  Georgetown GLOW is presented by the Georgetown Business Improvement District.

The installations for the 2017 edition of Georgetown GLOW exude a vivid brightness both in aesthetics and content. From chromatic rings to interactive landscapes, the works are truly beautiful whilst being contemplative. As with previous iterations of GLOW, we ask the viewer to interact, connect, and play with the artwork in thoughtful ways. This year, we also ask viewers to think about the meaning behind the works and how they are able to temporarily transform our surroundings. We do hope that GLOW brings a renewed light to all during the holiday season.
