And the Duke Zeibert Award Winner is...

Active ImageAn individual that has made a huge contribution to sharpening and polishing the profile of Metropolitan Washington restaurants. This is an individual whose writing about our restaurants and food has reached far beyond the DC area. This is an individual whose regular Washington Post column might praise or damn but never was it not written with honesty and integrity. And this is an individual who is universally respected for a body of work that includes 23 years as the Post restaurant critic, contributions to national publications such as Gourmet and Bon Appetit magazines and numerous books of both fiction and non-fiction.

Phyllis Richman, if you hadn’t guessed already, is the Duke Zeibert Capital Achievement Award Winner for the 2008 RAMMY Awards. Ms. Richman, the doyenne of the  Washington food writer community, will be presented with the Duke Zeibert Award at the 26th Annual Restaurant Awards Gala at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel on Sunday, June 29th, 2008. The announcement of Ms. Richman’s award was made at the RAMW social hosted by Mio Restaurant on April 28th to a capacity crowd.

Thanks to Manuel and his staff for a fun, festive and very tasty evening.
