Bob and Edith's Diner

A Little History of The Diner

It all began when Robert L. Bolton (Bob) and Wife Edith Bolton purchased "Gary's Donut Dinette" in 1969. The name was changed to "Bob & Edith's Diner" and with the help of their four children (Mike, Pinky, Nancy and Greg) a new family business was launched that has continued to prosper to this day.

The diner's appearance stayed unchanged for many years. in 1982, with the business steadily growing, Bob expanded from a 10 stool counter to 5 stools and 7 booths. Bob expanded again in 1987 to what you see today.

Along with the physical appearance, there have been many changes in ownership. In the early 1990's Bob & Edith passed the diner to their two sons, Robert Jr. (Pinky) and Greg. With the untimely death of Pinky in 1995, Greg and his wife Victoria became the sole owners.

As of November 2019, Bob and Edith's Diner Celebrated OVER 50 years of outstanding service to Columbia Pike, Arlington County and the entire Washinton, D.C. area. A third-generation (Greg and Victoria's children Tammy and Chris) have begun to assume the controls of the 24/7 diner with the ever-present leadership of their father. The diner continues to be a Dallas Cowboys supporter which stimulates never-ending good-natured debates among staff and patrons.
