The $100,000 Pork Chop Challenge Winner To Be Announced At The RAMMYS

Washington, D.C. – The winner of the $100,000 Pork Chop Challenge will be announced at the 42nd RAMMYS Awards Gala at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on July 21, 2024. Hosted by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), The RAMMYS honors the exceptional ability and accomplishments of the hard-working individuals and organizations of the region’s restaurants and foodservice community.  The purpose of the challenge is to identify the area’s best pork chop and award the winner with a $100,000 cash prize. Additionally, as part of the competition, pork producers will donate $100,000 worth of pork products to food banks in the Capital Beltway area on July 22, 2024. 

The #100kporkchop challenge began its voting phase on June 19, and will continue until July 3, 2024. During this period, the public can visit participating restaurants and vote for their favorite pork chop .

The top five vote recipients will advance to the final phase of the competition, where they will compete in front of a panel of culinary professionals and pork producers from Virginia, Iowa, and North Carolina. Judging visits will take place on July 11-12, 2024. The ultimate winner will be announced at The 42nd RAMMYS Awards Gala at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on July 21, 2024.

About $100k Pork Chop Challenge 

The $100k Pork Chop Challenge is a contest celebrating restaurants in the Capital Beltway area that feature unique and delicious pork chop dishes. The event is hosted by the Virginia Pork Council, with support from the Iowa Pork Producers Association, North Carolina Pork Council, National Restaurant Association, and Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington. The challenge offers a $100,000 prize to the winning restaurant and a $100,000 donation of pork products to the Capital Area Food Bank.
