National Restaurant Association Debuts Career Development Program

The National Restaurant Association has launched ServSuccess, a new, comprehensive career-development initiative that consists of online education, training, certification and assessments.

The program made its official debut May 20, at the National Restaurant Association’s 100thRestaurant Show. Its goal is to prepare the industry’s workforce for professional advancement and career opportunities. It also will help employers to recruit and retain great employees for their businesses.

The program features:

• Professional certifications for restaurant professionals, supervisor, and managers
• Online learning suites with content designed to fit into busy work schedules
• Interactive study guides to promote learning and retention using the latest brain science

“ServSuccess empowers people and businesses to aim for and achieve even higher levels of career success in the foodservice industry,” said Dawn Sweeney, the Association’s president and CEO. “By validating their skills and knowledge, employees will be able to use their years of experience to jumpstart their professional advancement. For restaurant operators, it provides training and workforce solutions that grow business and service to their communities.”

In addition to education and certification offerings, ServSuccess will help employees match themselves to open positions in the industry, assess their career readiness, and chart a path toward achieving desired career goals.
