RAMW Internships Available

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) offers spring, summer, and fall internship opportunities in Government Affairs and Member Advocacy for self-motivated individuals with an interest in public policy in the food, beverage, and hospitality industry. RAMW offers a hands-on, meaningful internship experience that provides:
 
  • Skill- and knowledge-building opportunities in the field of public policy, especially as it relates to small business.
  • Training and experience in professional writing, research, and database management. 
  • Opportunities to build the intern’s professional network. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Working closely with the Program Director, major responsibilities of the Government Affairs and Member Advocacy Intern include: 
 
  • Monitoring and reporting on legislation in city and county governments in the Washington metropolitan area, with a strong focus on the District of Columbia.
  • Updating and maintaining records of local policy makers and key staff.
  • Updating and maintaining membership database, including reviewing current district and point of contact information. 
  • Assisting with drafting and reviewing membership surveys. 
  • Assisting with drafting policy briefs for internal and external stakeholders and related content for policy and advocacy materials.
