Tell Congress to Fully Fund RRF Now!

June 17, 2021

As many of you have been following the recent updates on the SBA and RRF, we thought it would be of interest to you to read the letter sent by Sean Kennedy, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs at the National Restaurant Association, that he sent out earlier today. In collaboration with local restaurant associations across the country, Sean sent the letter linked here to SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman. We found it important to note that not only did he address Director Guzman, he also copied Bipartisan Leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

RAMW is in support and aligned with this letter. Yesterday, we sent out communication to better understand how our local restaurant community is currently affected by either changes to RRF funding you were expecting to receive, or by the agonizing wait to find out if your RRF grant will be approved. Now more than ever it’s critical that everyone use your voices so we can ensure that all restaurants receive RRF, and that Congress finishes the task they set out to do with the RESTAURANTS Act. We want and need for you to be engaged over the next ten days and we are sharing ways you can easily plug in and make your voice heard.

Here is how you can contact Congress to make your voice heard:

  1. Email Congress in one easy step by clicking here: bit.ly/3gnGF9k
  2. Click here to see the Independent Restaurant Coalition’s guide to contacting Congress. You can copy and paste text right from the guide to personalize your message and send it to members of Congress.
  3. Call your representative and ask them to replenish RRF Now! Dial this number for the Congress switchboard and ask to speak to your Senator or Representative, or any member of Congress: (202) 224-3121

Here’s how you can easily share social media:

  1. Visit @ramwdc on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and simply share our posts.
  2. Click here to find text that you can copy and paste for your own social media, as well as our graphics urging that Congress FULLY FUND RRF.
