Start with soy-and-vinegar-marinated chicken skewers, then move onto crispy pata (pork) with shrimp chips and kare-kare, a peanutty stew of oxtail and beef shank. They’re sided with steamed rice and pickled-papaya slaw. Dessert is a fruit salad made with condensed milk and cream. Chef Eric Ziebold is serving a $225 four-course meal for two at his luxe French/American dining room in Shaw. The package comes with chestnut soup, poached-lobster salad, a choice of entree (baked sturgeon, truffle-stuffed roast chicken, prime rib), and a Christmas pavlova. Pickup is available on December 24.

L’Auberge Chez Francois

The classic French inn is decorated top to bottom with wreaths, strings of lights, and even an appearance by Père Noël. This Navy Yard restaurant’s family-style Puerto Rican feast feeds six. It comes with slow-roasted pernil (pork shoulder); yucca pasteles with braised pork; rice and pigeon peas; shortbread cookies and macaroons; a bottle of coquito; and either vanilla flan or tres leches cake. The $225 meal is available through Puerto Rico’s Three Kings Day, which is January 6. A number of items are also available a la carte. Place your pickup order with at least three days’ notice.

Danny Lee’s Mount Vernon Triangle Korean restaurant is putting out a $90 assortment of frozen mandu (beef and pork, shrimp, and veggie), Korean bean sprout soup, thinly sliced pork belly, mini donuts, and more. Pickup is available on December 23.

The warm Adams Morgan bistro is decked out with lights and festive wreaths for the holiday—which they’re celebrating for much more than a night. Fogo de Chão — Bethesda
With locations in Tyson’s, Virginia, and DC in addition to Bethesda, Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão is open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 11am - 10:30pm. It serves its regular dinner menu on both days, and also offers holiday catering and to-go holiday meals for delivery or pickup. To-go choices include a choice of fire-roasted meats, a wide variety of festive sides, candy cane cocoa fudge brownies, and the option to add a Fogo tribute wine.

Kabuto Hibachi, Sushi, & Udon — Rockville
If you're looking for something other than the traditional holiday fare, Kabuto is a festive and fun option that's open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Kids get a kick out of the fun shows put on by the hibachi chefs, and children's hibachi meals for ages 12 and under cost only $12-$14 (adult meals range from $21 to $42). Hibachi meals come with a choice of meat and seafood along with soup, salad, two pieces of shrimp, mixed veggies, noodles, and fried rice. As its name suggests, Kabuto also serves sushi and udon.

Essy’s Carriage House — Arlington
In business for over 45 years, Essy’s Carriage House is open on both Christmas Day and Christmas Eve. It offers a special Christmas menu with choices such as prime rib, filet mignon, Alaskan salmon, lamb loin chop, and its signature lump crab cake, plus a variety of desserts and appetizers. Reservations are available between 5 and 10pm on Christmas Eve and from noon - 9pm on Christmas Day.

The Majestic — Alexandria
A fixture in Old Town Alexandria for over 80 years with a glamorous Art Deco interior, The Majestic is open on Christmas Day from 11:30am - 10pm. It offers a three-course prix fixe menu for $69 per person and $19 for children under 10. Choices include duck campanelle, prime rib, seared halibut, braised lamb shank, two sides for the table, and desserts like coconut cake, chocolate cheesecake, and pecan pie. The Majestic is also open on Christmas Eve with its regular menu.

Morton’s the Steakhouse — Arlington & Reston
This classic steakhouse, which also has locations in Bethesda and DC, is open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Enjoy its regular menu or a special menu for two with a mesclun salad, Chateaubriand with various sides, and bread pudding or cheesecake for dessert for $179.

Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap — Alexandria
This popular pizza and Italian restaurant near Old Town and Del Ray is open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with both its regular menu and some special Christmas items, including prime rib, pork loin, and baked alfredo mac and cheese. The hours are 11am - midnight on Christmas Eve and 11am-6pm on Christmas Day. Families can also order a Christmas meal package to-go for pickup between 2pm and 6pm on Christmas Eve and 11am and 3pm on Christmas Day. Be sure to order by December 21.

Christmas to-go packages for $69 to serve four can be ordered through Dec. 21 online or by phone. Pickups will be scheduled from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Christmas Day. All orders are hot and ready to be served.
  • Spice Kraft Indian Bistro: Open 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for dine-in and takeout on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Place orders for a holiday six-course veg menu until Dec. 23 for pickup on Dec. 24.
  • Royal Restaurant: Open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Day. In-person dining, takeout and delivery are available.
  • Ada's on the River: Enjoy a three-course meal for $69 per person. The special menu includes seared scallops or duck ragout over gnocchi, then a choice of harissa-spiced duck breast, whole roasted fish with lemon-caper butter, or wood-fired prime rib, and dessert choices of cranberry tart, chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake or a ginger and blood orange parfait.

  • Mia's Italian Kitchen: Enjoy a three-course comfort meal for $49 per person, starting with Venetian shrimp or fig and onion tortellini. Then choose one of three entrees, including duck Ragu with pappardelle, pan-seared sea bass or New York strip and dessert choices of chocolate covered cannoli or house-made Tuscan Christmas cake. Dinner to-go options are also available, including a lasagna package serving four for $99 or Sunday gravy package serving four for $139. To-go packages can be picked up Dec. 24 or 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food will be need to be reheated.
