DC Women Food Entrepreneurs offer Holiday Market - Gift Baskets & Chef Dinners

Chef Dinners and Gift Baskets Available to Support Women Owned Food Businesses
 
(Washington, DC – November 30, 2020) – A collection of women-owned food businesses in Washington, DC has launched Women Entrepreneurs Holiday Marketwww.womensfoodfest.com a virtual culinary holiday extravaganza  offering delicious food gift ideas like chef dinners and curated food-themed gift baskets available for pickup and delivery throughout December.
 
Women-owned businesses participating include:  Ben’s Chili Bowl, Brookland’s Finest, Centrolina, Cork Wine Bar, Equinox Restaurant, Hank & Mitzi's Italian Kitchen, Ice Cream Jubilee, Letena Ethiopian Restaurant, Maydan, Pizzeria Paradiso, Ris, Sloppy Mamas, Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats, Taqueria Nacional, Teaism and The District Fishwife.
 
Several women chefs have collaborated to create four-course dinners, priced at $90 for two persons, that may be enjoyed at home. These dinners are being offered for pick-up or delivery on Friday December 11, Saturday December 12, Friday December 18 and Saturday December 19. A lavish Italian dinner is being prepared by Chefs Amy Brandwein and Caitlin Dysart, Centrolina; Ruth Gresser, Pizzeria Paradiso; and Jamie Leeds, Hank & Mitzi’s Italian Kitchen.
 
A seafood feast dinner is being crafted by Ris Lacoste, RIS; Ann Cashion, Taqueria Nacional; Fiona Lewis, District Fishwife and Ellen Kassoff, Equinox Restaurant. All dinners may be ordered with wines and cocktails.
 
Culinary gift baskets, priced at $100, will be filled with an assortment of food and beverage treats from many DC area women-owned fooderies.

The holiday effort, coordinated by Diane Gross of Cork Wine  Bar,  follows the fall launch of The Women’s Food Fest organized by Ruth Gresser (Pizzeria Paradiso), Fiona Lewis (The District Fishwife, On Toast) and Micheline Mendelsohn (Good Stuff Eatery, We, The Pizza, Santa Rosa Taqueria)  who brought together the dozens of women in the area who have made their careers in the food industry.​ The Women's Food Fest is led by the DC chapter of the James Beard Foundation Let’s Talk forum, to which many DC-area  women restaurateurs belong.
