2019 RAMMYS Beer Program of the Year Finalists Shine This Month

Specials announced at the region’s top beer restaurants for the week of May 20

Washington, DC (May 7, 2019) — Finalists for the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) 2019 RAMMY Award for Beer Program of the Year have exciting events and promotions planned for the week following SAVOR. From Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, the region’s top beer programs will showcase their outstanding offerings in-house. Guests are encouraged to come out and support their favorite watering hole.

The week of May 20, any guest who posts photos at a RAMMYS beer program finalist location using the Instagram handle @RAMWdc and hashtags #RAMMYSbeer & #RAMMYS19 will be entered to win a pair of tickets to the 2019 RAMMY Awards Gala on June 30. One winner will be selected at random and notified via Instagram by RAMW. The winners of Beer Program of the Year and other RAMMYS categories will be announced at the 37th Annual RAMMY Awards Gala on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The Happiest of Happy Hours – Monday, May 20 @ 4pm
Enjoy the happiest of hours at B Side as they kickoff RAMMYS beer week by offering all twelve drafts for $4 each during happy hour.

Beer is the Answer – Tuesday, May 21 @ 4pm
B Side will highlight Virginia brewery The Answer on Tuesday, May 21. Enjoy a mini tap takeover of the brewery’s Hazy IPAs, Pastry Stouts, and Fruited Sour Ales. The team will pour no less than four beers on
draft with some added special surprises in store.

From Grape to Grain: Beer for Wine Lovers – Wednesday, May 22 @ 4pm
The team at B Side invites guests to bring along their favorite wine drinker to see if they can find a beer for them, featuring somm-like selections from their deep stash of barrel-aged sour ales.

BYOV Throwback Thursday: Old-School Hip-Hop Night w/ Pale Fire Brewing – Thursday, May 23 @ 4pm
Every Thursday, B Side invites guests to bring in their favorite “oldie but goodie” tunes on vinyl. On May 23, they’ll celebrate old school hip hop featuring classics from Nas, Biggie, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and more. As a bonus, they’ll pour four beers from Pale Fire Brewing including The World Is Yours, brewed for the 25th anniversary of Nas’ iconic album “Illmatic.”

California Dreaming w/ Modern Times Beer – Friday, May 24 @ 4pm
B Side will celebrate San Diego sunshine and Modern Times Beer on Friday, May 24. Soak up the sun on the restaurant’s outdoor patio while the team fires up the grill with some California-inspired specials to perfectly pair with select drafts and cans from Modern Times.

To showcase their craft beer program, Caboose Tavern is highlighting a beer each day. In addition to new beer pairings on their everyday menu, Caboose Tavern will offer in-house promotions all weeklong from May 20 through May 24.

Special Burger Night – Monday, May 20
Enjoy special burger night, paired with a beer of Caboose Tavern’s choosing. Guests will enjoy happy hour pricing all night long with the selected beer.

Ruff Tuesdays – Tuesday, May 21
Guests are invited to bring their dogs to Caboose Tavern for extended happy hour from 4pm to 9pm. The team recommends the Citra Session IPA, perfect for summer evenings on the patio.

Wing Wednesday – Wednesday, May 22
Enjoy Wing Wednesday, paired with a beer of Caboose Tavern’s choosing. Guests will enjoy happy hour pricing all night long with the selected beer.

Steal the Pint Night – Thursday, May 23
Starting at 6pm, order Caboose Tavern’s new beer, the Difficult Run Saison, and take home a brand-new Caboose-branded pint glass.

Firkin Friday! – Friday, May 24
Each Friday at Caboose Tavern, the team puts a spin on one of their classic beers. This allows their brewers to experiment with different flavor profiles and ingredients, while also allowing their customers to engage with the brewers. On Friday, May 24,
close out the week with Caboose’s Fog IPA, a mango habanero IPA with orange blossom honey.

In honor of being named a RAMMYS finalist, Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont Circle will offer a different beer flight each day during the week of May 20, showcasing their beer program. Each flight represents some of the staffs’ and customers’ favorite events or a larger pillar of the Dupont beer program. Guests can look forward to themes such as Beer Floats and Fresh2Death!
