Stop Loudoun County HospiTAXity
Vote NO November 4th on this
Unfair Grab at Your Food and Beverage Dollars
Through Restaurants and Prepared Food Outlets

Did you know that upwards of 27% of your restaurant tab goes to government coffers?  (And you thought you were just paying for a burger and fries.) Think a tax like this doesn’t really affect the restaurant – hey, it’s just a pipeline from your pocket to the county’s pocket.  Think again.  Whether it’s the price of the burger or another new tax, your dinner is going to cost more as it’s taking a bigger bite out of your food budget.

Another New Tax Along With Your Dinner Will:

    * Shrink your food dollars – you’re already paying a 5% tax, what’s 4% more going to do to your budget?
    * Threaten the jobs of thousands of food and beverage service workers
    * Threaten the health of existing restaurants and limit the number of new restaurants

Another New Tax to Save Our Schools Will Not:

Do a whole lot to improve our schools. Read what LCPS School Board Vice Chairman John Stevens has to say about this tax: "I have no confidence that this measure will put a single new brick in a Loudoun County school. I just want to make it clear that I think this meals tax will not have any impact on Loudoun County Public Schools." (Leesburg TODAY, 9/10/08)
