AND WINE & PERONI SPECIALS – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Fly me to the moon…or to Dupont Circle! In celebration of the Feast of San Gennaro, Urbana is giving Washingtonians an evening full of one-night-only specials on Saturday, September 22. September also brings a new format for Executive Chef Ethan McKee’s “Cicchetti at Urbana” tasting menu and a new pre-theater (pre-teatro) menu.

Feast of San Gennaro Celebration – Saturday, September 22

On Saturday, September 22, the Urbana team will host a festive dinner in honor of the Feast of San Gennaro, an Italian-American holiday observed on September 19 every year. Guests may enjoy a special menu of Executive Chef Ethan McKee’s take on Italian-American classics such as eggplant parmesan and tiramisu. Urbana’s dining room will be dressed in red and white, checkered tablecloths while a jazz quartet covers the music of Frank Sinatra and other Italian-inspired greats, adding cheerful ambiance throughout the evening.

Vino, Peroni, & All-Night Saluti

To ensure the holiday is well celebrated, Urbana is adding an exclusive, one-night-only wine special of 50% off all bottles priced $100 and up. Additionally, from 10:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., guests may partake in a celebratory drink package. For $50, the package will include unlimited pours of select wines including Italian blends, Californian reds, and Old World favorites; bottles of Peroni; and rail cocktails.

Urbana’s Feast of San Gennaro Celebration will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22. The last dinner seating will be at 10:00 p.m. Reservations are encouraged. To reserve a table, call 202.956.6650 or visit www.urbanadc.com. The drink package may be purchased prior to the event via Eventbrite or upon arrival at Urbana.

Regional Italian Themes Added to “Cicchetti at Urbana” Tasting Menu

“Cicchetti at Urbana” is Executive Chef Ethan McKee’s one-of-a-kind tasting menu, available only on Saturday evenings. Cicchetti are small snacks or side dishes typically served in traditional osterie in Italy. Guests have a unique, front-row seat watching Chef Ethan prepare an eight-course tasting menu of cicchetti at the restaurant’s hearth oven. Beginning in September, “Cicchetti at Urbana” will have themes inspired by a different regional cuisine of Italy each month.

The September theme, ‘End of Summer in Sicily,’ will highlight the fresh flavors of Sicily incorporating the final summer yields from Chef Ethan’s rooftop garden. Guests can expect delectable antipasti, pasta, seafood, meat, and dessert courses complemented by the last tomatoes, squashes, greens, and herbs of the season. Other fall themes include ‘Autumn in Lombardia’ in October and ‘Truffle Tour in Alba’ in November.

“Cicchetti at Urbana” is available on Saturdays at 7:00 p.m., with a 10-person guest maximum. The tasting menu is $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Wine pairings are available by request for an additional cost. November’s ‘Truffle Tour in Alba’ cicchetti dinners will be $85 per person. Tickets for “Cicchetti at Urbana” are available via Eventbrite.

Pre-Teatro Menu – Begins Monday, September 17

With the John F. Kennedy Center less than two miles away, Dupont Underground less than half a mile away, and The Phillips Collection within a block’s distance, Urbana will begin offering a new Pre-Teatro Menu seven days a week.
