The National Cherry Blossom Festival, in conjunction with RAMW, is proud to showcase the District’s vibrant and diverse restaurant scene to attendees of the Festival. Restaurants can participate by offering a "Cherry Pick" item such as a new springtime menu item or a tried and true cocktail, dish or dessert. Your options are limitless! Please note: the use of cherries as an ingredient is not necessary to offer a Cherry Pick item during the promotion.
Cherry Pick items will be showcased on the "Where to Eat" page on the Festival website, and highlighted through direct eblasts and via a social media campaign reaching thousands of Festival and RAMW followers on our platforms.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival will take place March 20 - April 17, 2022; the Cherry Picks promotional schedule is as follows:
March 20 - 26: Delightful Drinks
Highlighting all festive libations, cocktails and mocktails
March 27 - April 2: Cherry Night *Cherry Night will be on Thursday, March 31, 2021
Highlighting venues participating in Cherry Night. Spotlight the bands/DJs favorite festive food/cocktail/mocktail.
April 3-9 – Fresh Foodie Week
Highlighting all seasonal non-dessert food items (appetizer or main course)
April 10-17 – Decadent Dessert Week
Highlighting festive desserts
Restaurant guidelines and responsibilities:
1. Complete the online application for Cherry Picks (
here) on or before February 16, 2022 for all benefits; restaurants submitting an application after February 16 will not be included in the official guide in The Washington Post.
2. Submit three $50 gift certificate(s) for fundraising, promotional, or publicity purposes for the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
a. All gift certificates should be dated a year or more from the date of issuance; no purchasing restrictions
b. Gift certificates can be emailed to

3. Provide logo for use in promotional marketing (145 pixels x 145 pixels) by February 16, 2022.
4. Provide a picture of your springtime menu item(s) for use in promotional marketing (300 dpi) by February 16, 2022.
NEW! Cherry Night
Cherry Night is a spin-off of Cherry Picks that connects the National Cherry Blossom Festival with the DC and surrounding area's nightlife. Cherry Night celebrates restaurants, bars, social clubs, and lounges that participate in Cherry Picks. In order to host a Cherry Night, venues must be willing to host a theme night where guests are encouraged to wear pink, secure a DJ or a live band on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Please note, registration to host a Cherry Night - is limited.
Cherry Night guidelines and responsibilities:
1. Complete the online application for Cherry Picks (here) on or before February 16, 2022.
a. Make sure you answer the question “Cherry Night *Exclusive Theme Event*”
b. The theme night must be open and free to the public.
2. Provide flyer for the theme night
a. Must have Cherry Night branding
b. Must have the National Cherry Blossom Festival logo, NCBF must approve all use(s) of the logo
c. Must encourage guest to wear pink.
3. Provide logo for use in promotional marketing (145 pixels x 145 pixels)
Promotional responsibilities of the Festival
Cherry Night participants will be promoted through the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s marketing materials, including the following:
1. Media Pitches
a. Cherry Night participants will be listed in the Cherry Picks press release, distributed in the Festival’s press kit at the kick-off press conference
2. Social Media
a. The Festival via various platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The Festival reaches 100,000+ fans on Facebook 14,000+ followers on Twitter and 14,000+ followers on Instagram.
3. E-blasts
a. E-blasts focusing on Cherry Picks’ Spring Menus, Spring Drinks, and Cherry Night sent to 23,000+ subscribers of the National Cherry Blossom Festival email list
b. Inclusion in a National Cherry Blossom Festival e-newsletter highlighting the venue theme night.
4. Website
a. Venue flyer will be included on dedicated “Cherry Night” page on the nationalcherryblossomfestival.org; the link to “Cherry Night” page would also include a link to the “Where to Eat” page
5. A subpage for Cherry Night will include venue logos of all participants.
6. Festival Official Guide distributed in The Washington Post*
a. Listing in Cherry Picks article. All Cherry Night participants will have (*) next to their names
b. *Eligible only to restaurants/venues that complete all responsibilities by February 16, 2022
