RAMW Rebrands

November 6, 2013

Washington, DC (November 6, 2013)—President Kathy Hollinger announced today a fresh look and feel to the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) brand, effectively modernizing its digital presence through interactive resources for members. The new website reflects a better presence for media to disseminate information, for stakeholders to find allies, and the general public to learn more about what impacts the Washington area foodservice industry.

“We realize that we have become far more than just an advocate for or against laws,” said Hollinger.  “We are also a valuable resource to the public and a community for our restaurant and allied members.  Our brand now reflects that.”

To that end, RAMW staff has been dedicated to developing new digital platforms with a focus on modern form and function that launched on Wednesday, November 6.  The updated website showcases the organization’s integrated approach to member marketing and related social media platforms, and a new blog provides followers up to date information on initiatives, promotions, and more.

The capstone of RAMW’s new identity is a logo that embodies the organization as it looks to the future.  Members of RAMW operate in suburban Maryland, throughout the District of Columbia, and well into the foothills of Virginia’s horse country.  The new logo draws on commonalities among all of them with imagery that connects food, wine, the Potomac River, and even the iconic Washington Monument -- one of the few landmarks that can be seen from all member municipalities.  The color palate has softened as well, utilizing a rich blue signifying trust and integrity, as well as a bright green, given the organization’s focus on sustainability and health.

Established in 1920, soon after the passage of the 18th Amendment, RAMW unites the region’s foodservice industry effecting legislative change that impacts businesses and the consumers they serve.  As the organization nears its 100th anniversary, RAMW has evolved into a burgeoning community of foodservice operators and industry stakeholders that continues to grow in influence and reinforce Washington’s position as a leader among cities worldwide.

“We stand today representing one of the strongest regional foodservice industries in the country,” Hollinger continued.  “In the future, RAMW will continue to promote thoughtful dialogue around foodservice industry issues, and will remain a steadfast advocate and voice for the communities we serve.”
