2019 Rickey Competition at Jack Rose
Join the DC Craft Bartenders Guild as they celebrate their 11th annual Rickey Competition on Sunday, July 28 at Jack Rose Dining Saloon!
The Rickey is the District of Columbia’s official cocktail, invented in 1883 at Shoomaker’s, named for Col. Joe Rickey and consisting of a base spirit, citrus, and sparkling mineral water or soda. The Rickey Competition is one of DC’s largest and longest running cocktail competitions, challenging its bartenders to reimagine the cocktail in creative ways while staying true to its original spirit.
The 8 finalists will be making their Rickeys for guests and judges, and at the end they will announce the 2019 Rickey Champion! Cool down with some “air conditioning in a glass” and celebrate DC’s native cocktail!
Tickets will be $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
