Join the DC Mayor's Office of Nightlife & Culture (DCMONC) at The Wharf for an evening of discussion and music focused on exploring the impact of the black community on the DC entertainment industry.
About this Event
From Marvin Gaye to Chuck Brown and the word famous Ben’s Chili Bowl, the impact of the black community on DC’s entertainment and hospitality scene reaches far beyond the District’s boundaries.
Join DCMONC at Pearl Street Warehouse as they kick off Black History Month with a panel discussion and evening of entertainment showcasing the ways the black community continues to advance the dining, sports and music scenes enjoyed by all!
- Featuring a panel discussion with notable DC industry figures, live music from The String Queens and Dupont Brass Band, plus complimentary light appetizers.
- Emcee'd by Sunny Sumter, Executive Director, DC JazzFest.
- This event is FREE & open to all restaurant/hospitality/entertainment industry members 21+, but RSVP is required; please be prepared to provide business cards at the door.
