Sides & Pies from RIStoGO

December 20, 2013 - 12:00am to 5:30am

‘Tis the season at RIS and Chef/Owner Ris Lacoste offers a variety of ways to get in the holiday spirit. From gift cards to stocking stuffers to a party menu of festive dishes, RIS has everything needed to make gifting and hosting a breeze this year.

The Sides & Pies menu is a seasonal RIStoGO program with all dishes available for pick-up Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24 between 2 and 5pm at RIS or RIS at Union Market.  Customizable ordering makes the menu perfect for intimate gatherings or extravagant affairs held just about anywhere.

RIS has crafted a menu of versatile dishes that are easy to plate and what makes it especially unique is the use of market fresh ingredients used to create sophisticated takes on regional holiday traditions.  This year’s highlights include:

  • Hearty, seasonal soups like sweet potato bourbon soup ($15/quart) with ham and candied pecans;
  • Breads that include Ris’s mother Yvonne Lacoste’s cranberry orange bread ($7/loaf);
  • Seafood –  mini jumbo lump crab cakes ($30/dozen) with mustard crème fraîche or jumbo shrimp cocktail ($30/dozen) with house made cocktail sauce;
  • Sophisticated, traditional sides like vegan cranberry sauce ($8/pint), sausage bread stuffing ($15/quart), or gruyere potato gratin ($15/loaf), and;
  • Main dishes that include individual chicken pot pies ($8/each), braised lamb shanks ($15/each), or duck confit ($10/each), each with accompanying sauces to satisfy any taste.

Host the perfect cocktail party with a selection of gourmet appetizers and platters.  Start with a board of regional cheeses ($36, 4-6 ppl) or RIS’ house made charcuterie ($36, 4-6 ppl) and continue the crowd-pleasing with mouthwatering smoked salmon rilette spread ($15/pint) and mini mushroom and leek tarts ($18/dozen).

To complete the festivities, the Sides & Pies menu offers seasonal pies ($18/each) like apple or pecan (also available gluten free), but also house made ice creams in holiday flavors ($8/pint) like candy cane and eggnog ($8/pint) with the accompaniments of hot fudge ($10/pint) or butterscotch sauce ($8/pint). Sweet treats also include almond butter crunch toffee (4.6 oz. bags/$5) and chocolate macaroons ($8/dozen), fitting for stocking stuffers and holiday goody bags.
