Central Ushers in Spring with New Menu Offerings for Brunch & Weekday Service

Patio is Now Open; Happy Hour & Saturday Dinner Service Begins Earlier Starting April 27th

WASHINGTON — APRIL 2019 — Central Michel Richard is ushering in the warmer weather on Pennsylvania Avenue with new menu offerings at brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as new hours starting April 27th for weeknight dinner service and happy hour. The 40-seat patio also recently opened for the season - a perfect perch for drinks and people watching.
 
The new Sunday brunch menu from Chefs David Deshaies & Tony Roussel - available Sundays from 11am to 2:30pm - boasts favorites like Blueberry Pancakes with vanilla mascarpone and cinnamon crumble, French Toast with a creme anglaise and fresh berries, and Michel’s signature Fried Chicken and Waffles with maple foam. Additionally, Benedict lovers will enjoy a selection of five options, including a traditional Eggs Benedict with Neuske Canadian Bacon, a Crab Cake version, and the veggie-friendly Grilled Avocado Benedict with sautéed baby spinach and salsa fresco with a tarragon hollandaise. Other brunch entrees include a Ham and Cheese Croissant with Smoked Pit Ham and Aged White Cheddar; a delectable 30-Day Dry Aged Beef Patty Melt on buttery Sourdough with a blend of Monterey Jack, Cheddar and Gruyere Cheeses and Bacon; and Shrimp & Grits with a Creole Gravy. Diners may choose to order a la carte or go with the three-course Brunch Special for $28 where they have the choice of one appetizer, an entree or Benedict, and one dessert. 
 
For a boozier brunch on Sundays, diners may opt to add $15 Bottomless Brunch Cocktails, that include Mimosas, Bellinis, Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers, as well as a Lemoncello Sbagliato Mimosa (Champagne, Lemoncello, Rinamatto Bitter, Orange & Cranberry Juices) and an Elderflower Mimosa (Champagne, Elderflower Liqueur, Pineapple Juice & Peychauds). 
 
Long-time favorite dishes, like the Gougères, Bacon-Onion Tart, and the Central and Shrimp Hamburgers remain on the lunch and dinner menus. Vegetarians will enjoy a variety of options during lunch like the Grilled Mushroom & Cheese Sandwich, Wild Black Rice with Co-Co Curry and Cauliflower, and the Golden Beets salad with Avocado, Harissa Labneh and Pecans. At dinner, omnivores can tuck into a hearty Osso Buco with Cardamon Veal Jus and Polenta Cakes, a Fettuccine Primavera with Saffron and Red Pepper, and Loup De Mer with Sauce Vierge and Baby Bok Choy. Theater patrons can feast pre- (5-6:30pm) or post-show (9pm to close) on a select three-course price fixe for just $38.50.
 
Starting April 27th, the bar and dining room will begin opening earlier at 4:30pm on Saturday nights for dinner service (open at 5pm on weeknights). The bar will also begin opening at the earlier 4:30pm time slot for happy hour til 7pm Monday through Friday, beginning April 29th. The new “Cocktail Hour” menu, available in the bar & lounge only, offers 11 snack options ranging in price from $5 (Mini Mushroom Sandwich or Gougères) to $7 for Michel’s Chicken Nuggets up to $12 for a Trio of Sliders (Beef, Chicken & Tuna). Paired with $5 draft beers and $8 cocktails and select wines, patrons easily can cap off a hard day at the office for a budget-friendly check under $20!
 
The restaurant is also planning special Sunday dinner hours on Sunday, May 12th and May 19th for graduation celebrations, and will be offering a special $42 price fixe menu on Sunday morning, May 12th in honor of Mother’s Day. Reservations are available via OpenTable now.
