Restaurant Takes Home Best Al Fresco Dining from Northern Virginia Magazine and Debuts New Garden Fresh Menu
Reston, VA [July 10, 2013] – The summer months are a time to savor nature’s bounty at Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro. Reston’s favorite outdoor patio is open for brunch, lunch and dinner featuring new seasonal menu items inspired by Chef Bo’s blossoming backyard garden.
In celebration of sunny skies and warmer temperatures, guests are welcome to dine in the restaurant’s award-winning outdoor oasis surrounded by lush trees and Chef’s freshly potted summer plants. Recently voted “Best Al Fresco Dining” by Northern Virginia Magazine readers, Vinifera’s secluded outdoor garden patio is a hidden gem to behold. On cool July nights, diners can warm up by the custom-made Hawaiian fire pits while cozying up with handpicked wines in the outdoor lounge.
“Patio season is always an exciting time of year for us as Vinifera offers one of the most serene and secluded relaxation spots right outside of the city,” said Executive Chef Boyd Palker. “I like to further add to the experience by planting bright, flavorful produce on the patio that is used in every dish. I’m most looking forward to incorporating exotic ingredients like pomegranate in dishes such as Grilled Trio Rack of Lamb and Heirloom Tomato & Cucumber Salad.
Vinifera’s new summer menu is full of Chef Bo’s hyper-locally sourced vegetables and herbs, including heirloom tomatoes, fresh mint, oregano, thyme, lavender, basil, chili peppers and basil. These incredibly fresh ingredients transform into seasonal masterpieces like Hand-rolled Lemon Basil Pasta with spicy grilled shrimp, scallops, squid and essence of cucumber dill or Grilled Wild Boar Chop stuffed with smoked tomato butter, arugula pesto, cauliflower puree and cabernet apple glaze. All of the new dishes are specially-crafted to pair with Vinifera’s extensive wine list of over 300 domestic and international wines.
Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro is located in The Westin Reston Heights at 11750 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, Virginia 20191.
